He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital. After practicing primary care medicine in Greensboro for ten years, he specialized in vein care. He completed a fellowship in phlebology (vein disease) and became a regional medical director, training and supervising physicians, nurses, and ultrasonographers in the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating vein disease. Dr. Featherston was in the first class of physicians to pass the certification exam offered by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM), established to maintain the highest standards and improve patient care quality related to vein disease treatment. A lifelong North Carolina resident, Dr. Featherston has served as an emergency room, urgent care, and primary care physician. He shared his medical knowledge with students as an instructor in the Medicine Residency Program at Moses Cone Family and the Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University. He also instructed Clinical Phlebology. Dr. Featherston is an avid golfer and water sports enthusiast. He enjoys travel and is actively involved in the church with his family.
