Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
NY
I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress, and major life transitions. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on understanding both mental health symptoms and the medical and life factors that may be contributing to them. I offer telehealth appointments, including evening availability, making psychiatric care easier to fit around work, family, and other responsibilities. I work especially well with adults navigating changing health needs, caregiver stress, retirement, and other transitions. My goal is to provide evidence-based medication management while giving patients enough time to discuss their concerns, understand their treatment options, and participate actively in decisions about their care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and practical. I want you to understand what we are treating, why a particular treatment may be helpful, and what to expect along the way. During your initial evaluation, we’ll take time to understand your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, medications, sleep, daily functioning, and the life circumstances that may be affecting your mental health. I believe good psychiatric care involves looking at the whole picture rather than treating symptoms in isolation. When medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss the potential benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives so that you can participate actively in treatment decisions. I favor a measured approach to medication management and ongoing follow-up to evaluate how treatment is working and make adjustments when appropriate. My goal is to provide a comfortable, respectful environment where you can speak openly, ask questions, and leave appointments with a clear understanding of the next steps in your care. Evening Harbor Psychiatry provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management by telehealth. When psychotherapy or other services would be beneficial, I encourage collaboration with therapists, primary care clinicians, and other members of your healthcare team.
