About Dr. Mark Kaufmann

Dr. Kaufmann is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon, with more than 25 years of expertise exploring innovative ways of providing quality dermatologic care. In 2020, he was elected President-Elect of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the world’s largest dermatologic society, and has been awarded five AAD Presidential Citations for contributions to the organization. After graduating from NYU’s School of Medicine, Dr. Kaufmann completed his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and served as chief resident. He also completed a fellowship in dermatologic cosmetic surgery. As a clinical associate professor of the Department of Dermatology Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, Dr. Kaufmann has taught dermatologic surgery to residents. Recognized as one of America’s Top Dermatologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America, and as a New York Superdoctor, Dr. Kaufmann has also been featured on Good Morning America, and in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Good Housekeeping, and Shape magazines. Dr. Kaufmann is a frequent lecturer at the annual meetings of prominent professional organizations and on grand rounds, and currently serves as an advisor to the AAD’s delegation to the American Medical Association (AMA) Relative Value Scale Update Committee, a group of physicians who advise the AMA on how to value physicians’ work.
