I love the new office in Clanton, Al. And, I will be going back when needed. I only have one complaint and that is the way the office parking is designed. Whoever designed this building did not know what they were doing. This is a Cardiologist office, hence "HEART SOUTH". The way the office is designed, you have to walk entirely TOO far to get inside.

Dr Mullens was all that I expected from a top notch and excellent Heart specialty practice! It was a first class, and very busy office, but everyone who worked in the office was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Dr Mullens was very interested in my first visit issues and provided a wonderful After Visit Summary to sum up what we discussed and the path forward for my treatment plan. I felt at ease with him, and understood what he suggested and the timeline for a future visit to follow up on treatments. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a Cardiologist who knows and understands middle age and older adults.

Dr.Mullens saved my life in 2013.I was having a major heart attack.He inserted four stints.Now in 2025,no problems,can't tell I have them.I drive 100 miles one way to my appointments where he is.I would not change for another cardiologist closer.He talks to you like family,always prompt and knows exactly what to do.Anyone would be very fortunate to have him as their cardiologist.He has been a blessing.

I was very pleased with my office visit with Dr Mullins. He was very professional and his bed side manner is great. He referred to my chart when asking me questions about my health. Then he gave me time to tell him if I was experiencing any health issue. He took plenty of time with me not rushing in and out. Over all I am highly pleased with him and give him a 5 Star rating.

Dr. Mullins was highly recommended by my mother. I drive about an hour and 20 minutes to the facility. From check in, the nurse taking all of the information, the lab techs and the check and scheduling, all employees are very personable and eager to get everything you need. Dr. Mullins is very thorough and answered my questions, thoroughly. There was about a 45-minute wait, but this facility was extremely busy, and I was impressed at the rate patients were taken care of.

As it turns out zocdoc booked me for an appointment that was not available for a”video” appointment and the Dr’s office had to call me and give me one that was available (in July). My impression of zocdoc is therefore not great. I think I will deal with my doctor appointments directly with their offices in the future.

My experience there has been good since I started seeing Dr. Mullens back in 2019. The staff is always friendly and helpful with a high degree of professionalism. Dr. Mullens is very easy to talk with, and I feel very confident in his decisions and treatment regarding my health.

Good overall experience. Professional atmosphere. Wait time a little long, but that is very normal at most Dr. Apts in my experience. Dr. Mullins gave a chance to ask questions and wanted to make sure I understood his recommendations. I plan to continue to use this group. I do recommend to double check to ensure that your appointment is in the location you desire as mine was originally booked in the Alabaster location, when I thought I was booking in Clanton ( much shorter drive for me). This did results in one 85 mile round trip only to have to come back the next day. That was as much my fault as theirs, but a reminder that made clear the location would have been a good personal touch, which Zocdoc does not offer.

Doctor Mullens is a great doctor. The staff at HeartSouth is knowledgeable and friendly. The one thing I would like to see change is the time it takes from check in to actually being seen by the doctor himself. It's not a deal breaker but is an inconvenience. My visit on September 7, 2023 is the quickest one so far so maybe they are getting better. I've been to other large cardiac practices for family members that are slower.
