Getting to know Marketa Smith
Hi, I am Marketa, PMHNP-BC. I earned my Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of South Florida.
My vast experience as a nurse practitioner has led me to the awareness that patients’ psychological and emotional needs are rarely addressed in the physical healthcare setting, yet they are a large part of patients’ well-being and outcomes.
My passion is driven by the bonds I build with my patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment I find in keeping them healthy and well. I believe that every patient and their family are unique, with their own distinctive needs, and my goal is to design an individualized treatment plan to help every patient exceed even their own preconceived outcomes. As a patient, you can expect a caring and professional attitude from me.
Due to current telehealth limitations, I do not prescribe any controlled substances, including stimulants, benzodiazepines, or hypnotics.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

In my past, psychiatrists have been very procedural like going to a doctor's appointment. Not interested in what's going on other than symptomology to prescribe and then pass me to a counselor.
Marketa truly takes the time to look at my needs and experience holistically. She is truly the first psychiatrist I've trusted enough to ask about than just what's required to manage existing medication. She's amazingly caring and accessible.
