About Dr. Marla Kushner
Dr. Marla Kushner graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985 with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and pursued a Fellowship in Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital and Rush-Pres St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Marla Kushner, DO, FACOFP, DFASAM, FSAHM, FAOAAM, provides effective and compassionate care to her patients in Chicago. With more than twenty-five years of experience in Family Practice, Adolescent, and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Kushner is a well-known expert in her field. She is board certified in Family Medicine and Adolescent Medicine, a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and certified in Addiction Medicine by both the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and the American Osteopathic Association. She is also a distinguished fellow of ASAM and currently serves as president of the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine.

I went in for my annual physical (which is what I noted when booking the appointment) and before even seeing me, they charged me for a diagnostic doctor's visit (they diagnosed me with nothing FYI). When I went up to get my license that they were photo copying, the gentleman working the front desk looked at me, said nothing, and closed the glass door LOL. I heard him be rude on the phone to others too as I was checking out, so this does not seem to be out of the norm for his actions. I saw a student and the NP and they were nice but I was not pleased with the medical treatment I received. I will not be returning here and would recommend others look elsewhere.

My appointment was for an annual check up. I was weighed and they took my blood pressure. That's it. No blood work, no questions, not even a physical exam. They did not have flu shots available either. Basically it was just an exam to see if you could cloud a mirror.

I have seen alot of doctors in my past and no one compares to Dr. Kushner! She truly cares about all her patients and takes the time to talk to you on a personal level about anything going on in your life (wether health related or not). This is the only doctor I've ever met who truly has you best interest at heart.

So quick and efficient. I had moved to Chicago from NJ and was looking for a new doctor to provide me my birth control script. She was able to do that quickly and also took the time to ask about how I liked the current birth control I was on. I actually had quite a few complaints, but thought it was common for all pills. Turns out she recommended something different and even gave me free samples. The new pill has been great. Really appreciated the time and attention to my well being.

This was my first visit with Dr Kushner and I came in with quite a wide array of ailments. I felt that she spent the necessary time with me to go over all of them and that, once rest results come in, I will be able to start a treatment program with her that will. She seemed genuine and was not dismissive of my issues, which is the reason why I decided to look for a PCP in the first place.
