What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to psychiatric care is patient-centered, focusing on treating the whole person by addressing emotional, physical, and social factors that affect well-being. I prioritize a collaborative relationship with my patients, ensuring they are actively involved in decisions about their care. In terms of medication management, I take an evidence-based approach, carefully considering the benefits, risks, and the patient's individual needs to enhance their quality of life. Alongside medication, I incorporate supportive psychotherapy and use techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help patients develop effective coping skills, build self-awareness, and manage their symptoms. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate environment where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered on their path to better mental health.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A successful treatment session is one where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take the next steps in their mental health journey. My goal is to create a safe space for open discussion, where we collaboratively develop strategies for symptom management and well-being. I ensure patients understand their treatment plans by explaining medication choices and therapeutic approaches clearly and encourage them to ask questions. Together, we set achievable goals aligned with their priorities, and I provide coping strategies like mindfulness or cognitive-behavioral techniques for use outside of sessions. A successful session leaves the patient feeling confident in their ability to manage their mental health and motivated to continue working toward their goals.
