Getting to know Marlo Rouse

Hello, I'm Dr. Marlo Rouse. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, families, and groups navigate a variety of challenges. My journey in the field of mental health began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Arts degree in marriage and family therapy from Syracuse University, followed by a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working extensively with veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as addressing issues related to couple and family dynamics, sexuality, and trauma. My approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative, drawing on a range of evidence-based practices to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. I utilize family systems approaches and principles of mindfulness within a culturally relevant context to guide my work. Clients often describe me as knowledgeable, compassionate, and non-judgmental. They appreciate my openness and find it easy to talk to me, which helps create a supportive and effective therapeutic environment. Many have shared that the additional support and guidance they received from our sessions have significantly improved their quality of life. In addition to my clinical work, I have served as a college professor and supervise other therapists in the field. I have also conducted, published, and presented research findings at various workshops, contributing to the broader understanding of my areas of expertise. If you're looking for a therapist who is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and improve your well-being, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to navigate the challenges you're facing and find a path forward.
