He then went on to complete a prestigious Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA) at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island, New York. Dr. Carswell trained under leading experts in foot and ankle surgery and in his final year of residency served as chief resident. As a result of his training, Dr. Carswell is well-versed and extremely skilled in the treatment of areas including, but not limited to, limb salvage, diabetic foot care, sports medicine, gout, bunions, tendinopathy, and nail pathology.
