Getting to know Dr. Marta E Banegas
The treatment of children and adolescents has been the focus of my career. For over 20 years, I have worked on inpatient units treating children and adolescents while also working with medical students and residents in general psychiatry and child psychiatry. I completed my medical school training at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras Facultad de Ciencias Medicas, followed by residency at Hospital Materno Infantil and Illinois State Psychiatric Institute. I also completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute for Juvenile Research.
At this point in my professional career, I am concentrating on the outpatient treatment of children, adolescents, and healthy young adults.

Dr. Banegas is great! She is a lively communicator and is comfortable to talk to. Only thing I'll say is that she can take a while to get back to you if for whatever reason you have to communicate with her between appointments. Overall I recommend her, though.

Dr. Banegas changed my life. I’ve been dealing with mental health issues since 2011, and Dr. Banegas has been the only psychiatrist who was able to develop a treatment plan that has completely resolved ALL my issues and did it from a non-judgemental, empathetic, and resolution-focused mindset. I wish I found her sooner, but life has gotten so much better since I started seeing her!
