About Martin Burke
This provider's Primary Supervising Physician is Jerry Hedrick.
Martin Burke, PA-C, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but raised in Tampa. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science at the University of South Florida and attended the University of Florida, where he earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to attending the University of Florida, Martin worked for eight years at Tampa General Hospital as a Radiology Tech in their very busy ER. It was his employment at Tampa General Hospital that inspired Martin to return to school to become a Physician Assistant. He is a current member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
Martin chose to practice in Dermatology because he loves the variety of pathologies and procedures that dermatology has to offer. Being a Florida native and spending much of his childhood outdoors, he feels passionate about skin cancer awareness and detection. Martin also enjoys the direct patient contact that comes with working in Dermatology.
He spent several years at an East Coast dermatology practice before returning to Tampa Bay to be closer to family. Martin has a wife and two busy children who occupy most of his free time, but he also enjoys both fresh and saltwater fishing.
A diehard Gators fan, Martin also admits to being a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and supports his hometown team no matter what.

Martin was incredibly helpful in addressing my needs, explaining things so I could clearly understand. He was professional - though I never felt like a patient... Just a fellow human being. The good energy and going "above and beyond" are highly evident. He's the BEST dermatologist I've seen so I look forward to my next appointment. Highly recommend to anyone searching for a great dermatologist!

Staff super friendly and helpful. Wait time really short(I wasn’t done with paperwork). Dr came in exam room, introduced himself by first name shook hands “nice to meet you”. Examined my “rash” while asking questions, listened, had nurse in room doing documentation, photos of sites. Explained need for biopsies, made sure I was comfortable before starting procedures. Injection of Lidocane was the most painful part of the procedure. Awaiting results in 2 weeks.

The building was extremely confusing and I couldn’t even find the doctor. There was no receptionist for the building and when I asked a random receptionist to check the building directory this doctor wasn’t on there.

I went to see Dr. Burke to have a painful cyst treated. He was friendly and straightforward. He took the time to listen to my concerns regarding the origins of the infection and the best way to treat it after removing the cyst. I feel he really listened to me and answered all of my questions in simple and clear language. I would definitely recommend him to a friend.
