About Dr. Mary Mitchell

I believe that physicians and their patients are partners who need to work together to promote health and wellness. My job is to educate my patients so they fully understand why I make the recommendations I do and feel more comfortable and willing to take charge of their own health. In turn, I want my patients to be honest with me and openly share their concerns so I can better understand their individual needs and so we can work together as a team. I want my office visits to be conversations. I am a people person and want to get to know my patients and families on a personal level. I also want my patients to respect me as a person and understand that I, too, go to doctor’s visits and sometimes wait. I ask for patience when this happens in my office and look forward to our visit together. I entered medicine because I have always had a passion for studying and learning about the human body and mind. I have a strong desire to help patients and their families in times of both illness and health. This desire grew from watching my grandfather, a very special family physician, care for and develop relationships with families for over 50 years. I was in awe that he was a constant in the lives of so many families, who counted on him and trusted him to guide them through some of their most challenging moments. I, too, wanted this type of relationship with patients, which is why I chose family medicine. I wanted to care for patients and families of all ages and continue to see them over time, through all the milestones in their lives—both good and bad. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Moravian College and received my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my internship and residency in Family Medicine at Crozer-Keystone Health System.
