About Mary Sheehan
Josie Sheehan is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University for both her undergraduate degree and her Master's of Science in Nursing. She previously worked as a Registered Nurse at The James Cancer Hospital on a gynecology-oncology and urology unit. With a specialization in Women's Health, she has experience in gynecology, obstetrics, urology, sexual and reproductive health, breast health, and gynecologic oncology. Her clinical interests include urodynamics, birth control counseling and education, cancer prevention and screening, and she is passionate about trauma-informed care. I have never felt more heard about my concerns and body than I was today by Josie! It was a wonderful and felt reassuring that my doctor was listening and understood my concerns. She really took the time to see me and explain everything and provide me with the most up to date information. I would highly recommend and will be seeing her again in the future!

Let me preface this by saying that i have used Zocdoc a few times in the past and never had an issue. I received 5 emails and a 2 confirmations for a video chat. I filled out all of the paperwork requested. I checked and rechecked to make sure that everything was filled out correctly. The morning of the 9:30 am appt, I received a text message that I would receive an email from the doctor telling me how to log in to the video call. The appt time came and went. The was no email from the doctor. I called the office number for the doctor that was on all of the confirmations and was rudely told that my appt was booked for an in person visit at their office and that the confirmation through Zocdoc was a mistake.. I told her what the emails said and I was told it wasn't their fault. Needless to say, I didn't have the appt. Then, 3 hours after the scheduled appt, I got a text message saying that the doctor canceled the appointment.

I had my first appointment with this Josie last week, and I honestly couldn’t have had a better experience. I usually feel nervous going into appointments with a new provider, but she immediately made me feel comfortable, heard, and at ease. She took an incredible amount of time answering all of my questions, never made me feel rushed, and explained everything clearly and thoughtfully. I’ll absolutely be scheduling my future appointments with her.

It’s rare to find a women’s health office where you feel truly seen, valued, and cared for. This is one of those places.
From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by thoughtful art that makes it clear this office genuinely celebrates and respects women. The staff is warm, welcoming, and refreshingly down-to-earth.
What impressed me most was their approach to IUD insertions. Unlike so many other providers who dismiss concerns about pain, this team proactively offers multiple pain management options without making the patient ask or justify themselves.
In the past, I’ve been laughed at for requesting more than Advil or Tylenol. Here, I felt understood. They truly get it. This is how women’s healthcare should be.

My first visit with Dr. Sheehan was a good experience. She made me feel comfortable and explained thoroughly everything I needed to know in regards to the Bartholin Cyst. She is very knowledgeable and was super nice and friendly making it very comfortable for me to open up to her. I’ve always felt uncomfortable with other nurses and doctors as they do not deliver the same level of professionalism as Dr. Sheehan does. I certainly recommend her and will continue to see her often for my gyno needs.

I’ve had trouble finding a provider that I felt comfortable with and who I felt really listened to my concerns, and Josie was great! The front desk staff was very welcoming, I was about 20-30 minutes early and they got me in right away. Josie took her time and listened to all of my symptoms, questions, and concerns. I could tell she was genuinely thinking about how to help me and come up with a plan instead of dismissing me with default answers as other providers have done. She was so friendly and easy to talk to. She explained each medication/treatment in detail and why they would be beneficial to me. I feel confident about next steps moving forward. I will definitely be going back!
