I take a thorough history to learn about you because I believe in treating my patients with dignity and respect. Together, we will work to form a plan that fits your needs. I provide psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy. I hold a Master’s in Family Nursing and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and I earned my bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Irvine, and Jacksonville University.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Your initial appointment will be approximately 30 mins minutes long, by the end of the visit. you have have a treatment plan which includes medication and/or therapy options. Your wellbeing is my top most priority, whether you choose medication and/or therapy. Im here to help you thrive at life.

She can be a bit late and does not appear to be very well experienced in the field of psychiatry. If just you're trying to get refills on your medications and nothing else, then she isn't that bad. However, she seems to have difficulty understanding the patient's point of view and the inherent complexity of different mental health issues.

Maryam was very caring and a great listener. She asked many questions and gave me more than ample time to respond....even through my pauses she was a patient listener which allowed me to share all I needed to. She took a comprehensive approach in order to find out what was happening internally and in my life....also, she went over my physical condition and made a couple of suggestions of tests I should ask my primary care doctor for. Very impressed.....I look forward to a long term relationship with Maryam and BrainPower.
