I am not thrilled with my visit at all. First the office called to reschedule my visit despite ZocDoc's policy. After my appointment, The office was unwilling to work with my insurance provider regarding ordering an IUD despite the fact that I found them to be in-network through ZocDoc. Additionally, the office would not refer me to another professional who would be able to help. Last, I was charged for an office visit despite going for a consultation ultimately ending in to receiving an Rx that I am unable to fill. I certainly feel cheated.

Dr. Prewitt was super sweet today! She was quick with the things I wasn't looking forward to, but made sure she explained everything thoroughly. Unfortunately, I am needing another visit due to being sick, and she wanted me back in two days. She was completely booked but said she wanted to see me anyway because she wanted to make sure we get started on ultrasounds and more bloodwork. Even though she is very busy, she is taking time from her busy Saturday to still see me. The nurse helping me was super sweet as well, and made me as comfortable as possible. Glad to have found my OB-GYN!

Her practice location is very easy to find and it smells great inside. She was an okay Doctor. By okay, I am referring to our social interaction. Im sure her knowledge of her chosen field is great! However, as patients, we rate doctors on their representation and interaction. On that ground, all I can say is that she was okay.

Here's what I know. - If you know your entire day/schedule is backed up - let your patients know beforehand. If you can't do that, let your patients know when they get there. Don't just have them sit there for 40 minutes past their appointment time wondering. I personally had to stand in front of the in-patient door before the receptionist decided to remind the doctor that I was there. It took 40 minutes of silence and then my silence visual reminder before anyone gave me an update. -If your receptionists/employees are talking about a non-business matter and the phone rings, don't pick up the phone ask that customer to hold because you want to finish your gossip. -If a client walks in - greet them. Don't let them just wander around until they realize they have to go through an empty lobby with dirty, used wine glasses on the table, and a tiny framed sign on the counter telling you go through the doors, and then STILL not acknowledge their existence until they have to stare you in the face. Honestly, the counter opens in three places, if you can't see people, get a bell. The doctor shouldn't assume I want to know details about her other patients or their circumstances. The doctor shouldn't assume my race. The doctor shouldn't sit there trying to place blame on the busy traffic backing her schedule up around that area because she CHOSE that area. There are many things that could have been done better that could have alleviated that experience. I don't want to hear your excuses. You could have just apologized for your client's experience rather than trying to tell me how great you and your staff are because you know them well. I just met them - I do not agree. Also, I get it. You don't like Obamacare. The only person that actually tried addressed my concerns was the nice lady who took my blood. Thank you for trying to address my concerns. On the way out...nope no receptionist. Yup, I had to ask for one to see if they needed me to do anything else. Schedule another appointment? No, thank you. Pro: The office is pretty. The blood taker lady is awesome. Con: Everything else.

She was nice and staff was friendly, but I felt like she was trying to sell me on a lot of stuff. I came in to get a refill on my prescription, and she mentioned all these special procedures she does for things I wasn't even concerned about. I don't really want a doctor whose goal is to upsell me, I just want someone to address my current needs. She wasn't judgmental, which I believe is very important to allowing the patient to trust their doctor. However, I can't trust her because I feel like I'm talking with a saleswoman.

The annual exam was very easy and painless, although I felt like I was balked at for asking for a refill on my current birth control pill. Maryann asked if I had considered getting an IUD and told her no, but I'd like more information. She said to do my own research and make an appointment if I wanted one. Isn't the doctor supposed to provide that information to the patient to ensure I'm getting accurate information? Guess not. I also got blood work done, which I've never gotten before. About 3 weeks went by and hadn't received results, so I call them. First time the receptionist said she couldn't access the results but the doctor would call shortly with them. 2 days went by and nothing. I get a call with my pap results and I ask again about the blood work. Lady calling puts me on hold and for a few minutes and says everything is fine. They apparently do not give any more information than that. I still don't even know what tests they ran... All in all, actual exam was fine, but I don't know if I'd go back for anything other than that.

I went to Dr. Prewitt under the recommendation of a friend who really liked her. The first time I went I had to wait a long time to be seen, maybe about 30 minutes in the front area then about 45 more minutes in the actual exam room. When she came in she was very talkative, which I didn't mind, although she was kind of just talking about random things. She didn't really ask me any questions about myself or anything like that even though it was the first time she was meeting me. She got through with the exam fairly quickly and then they made me wait in her office after the exam. In her office she gave me an overview of some of the services they offer at her facility and that was pretty much it it. She told me they would call me in a few days to go over my results. They called two weeks later and said everything was fine. I went back today to get a physical with blood work and wanting to give her another chance since I didn't really feel she paid any real attention to me as a patient. I began to ask about birth control options since the last birth control didn't really work for me. She asked me point blank if she wanted me to have her an order an IUD and I said "I think I need more information and time to think about it." She pretty much told me that I needed to go online and do research and call back when I was ready. In the meantime, she was going to give me one months worth of contraception. If you want to get in and out quickly and to pretty much tell your doctor what they need to prescribe you, you will like her. If you want a little more attention and to actually be able to have your questions answered, look elsewhere.

I am trying to conceive. I went to her for an exam because I had questions about a very irregular cycle I had as well as pain. She was nice. We did the exam, and she was comforting. However, when we were finished I was told to wait in her office to go over results. When she came in the office, she basically asked me what I wanted. She asked, "What do you want to do?" I was unsure. I was told to go into the office so I was confused. Then, she said she mistook me for someone else even after she JUST completed the exam with me. So, I was told to go out the office, and then they brought me right back in when she realized SHE JUST DID THE EXAM ON ME. Anyways, she told me I had a tumor on my uterus, and explained it wasn't major, but I got scared because I never heard of fibroids. She didn't explain what it was. She told me to go research it. Of course, after researching, I had questions. So, I called and set up a phone appointment with her. She was very short with me, and acted very callous toward my concern on the manner. I was having difficulty getting pregnant, so she told me to reschedule in 6 months. I did. I waited a very long time to see her even though I was early for my appointment. The office somehow thought I was a new patient, even though both times I booked with them I did so through this site. I talked to her about not being able to get pregnant and had to remind her about my whole situation. She said everything looked great, but that I might have endometriosis, and I would receive my results in a couple of days. This was another thing I didn't know too much about. I asked questions. She told me to do more homework, and to call to ask questions. I researched and of course got scared. This time I called for questions she just wanted me to book another appointment (even though she told me she would answer my questions over the phone). I asked to be sent my results. They couldn't find them. I asked for my online information to see the results. The system was down at that time. They would be able to send results by mail, but it would take a month. If I wanted to see it online, it would also take a month. I never got my results in the mail after requesting it. Do not recommend.

First I just want to recommend that people read the reviews from this doctor on other websites such as healthgrades.com and vitals.com. I made the mistake of trusting the high ratings on this website and not looking at other websites that may be less biased (in the doctor's office there is a sign telling patients to make their appointments using this website). The other websites show an average rating of 2.5 stars versus the 4.5 stars on this website. Now, on to my experience. This was my first ever doctor's visit of this nature, so I was fairly nervous. The office was slightly difficult to find since they didn't give exact directions on the website on how to get there--it's on the third floor of the tower at the medical center. I waited for around 30 minutes until a nurse brought me to the back. She asked if I would mind giving a urine sample, and I told her I didn't mind but I didn't have to go, so she brought me water. Then she never came back so I could actually give the sample. The doctor came in and brought me into her office and did not shut the door and did not introduce herself. She said "what can I do for you?" and I told her I was just there for my annual. She seemed confused and said "no birth control?" and went on to suggest other services. After I said no she took me back to the exam room and told me to change. I waited another 15 minutes, heard the doctor say "is anyone in here?" and she opened my door, saw me, and then shut it again. Then she later came back and did the exam, which was pretty painful for me, despite her repetitions of "very gentle, very gentle". Then she told me we were done and someone would call me about my results. She didn't tell me where to go from there after I changed, so I had to ask a nurse what to do. Then a week later I received a phone call from the office and I was told the doctor wanted me to come to a follow up appointment to discuss my results. I was surprised since I was told I would just get a phone call. I made the appointment, but still felt unsettled. I have a family history of all sorts of cancer, and my follow up appointment wasn't until the following week, so I didn't think I could wait that long without a lot of anxiety. I called back the next day to ask for my results over the phone. I was told they couldn't find them in the computer for some reason. When I asked for my username and password so I could use the service to view my results online, they told me that wasn't working. They then told me they'd leave a message for a nurse and a nurse "might" call me back. I called back six hours later, was put on hold, then told they were going to ask someone, then put on hold, and I got disconnected. I called again and got disconnected. I called a third time and was told the doctor wanted to speak with me but they couldn't find her, so they put me on hold two more times. I was then told the doctor was unavailable, but that she was adamant that I come to my follow-up appointment. I knew that it was unlikely that there was anything wrong with me, but this really made me nervous. I then read online that many physicians try to make their patients come to follow-up appointments just so they can charge the patient's insurance, even if the appointment is not necessary. I made sure, and it is perfectly legal to give results over the phone. I called once more the next day, prayed that the Lord would take care of the situation, and then I got a call back with my test results. tl;dr--I would not recommend this doctor. She was very short with me, did not introduce herself, and then tried to force me into an unnecessary follow-up appointment in order to get more money out of me by not allowing her employees to give me my test results over the phone. PLEASE read reviews from other websites before making your appointment!

NO, I won’t definitely return to Dr Maryann Prewitt’s office, although the waiting room where I spent over one hour was very nicely arranged and the staff rather nice, but incompetent (they forgot to tell me about urine test!). The exam itself (annual GYN exam) was a brief moment, if not a breast exam (which I was asked if I wanted), it would have lasted perhaps about 1 minute maximum. I was very surprised that the doctor didn’t perform a complete Pelvic Exam, but only collected cells from the cervix for PAP test. The external genital area and the internal organs—the uterus, the fallopian tubes and the ovaries weren't checked!!! The time spent in the doctor’s office was just additional few moments. I felt rushed and had impression that her mind was somewhere else, busy with something. Ah, she was so impersonal! Anyway, the circumstances weren’t right either, no intimacy respected at all: the door of the office was opened; while being with me, the doctor was communicating with someone in the corridor and typing something on her cellphone (texting?!!!). I haven’t gotten the results of Pap test so far either. I was promised to be called within 7 days, but no one called. My husband went there in person at the 8th day and he was almost “kicked off” because he wasn’t allowed to get my results.( I wasn't informed earlier about the way to pick them up). Instead, the doctor told him that she would e-mail a special form so I can sign to give him permission and she would call me next day, but it has been two days now after this and we haven’t received anything: no e-mail, no any call back. I don’t mind waiting for my visit longer if there was an emergency the doctor had to deal with. Yet, I cannot tolerate the fact that the doctor is careless and doesn’t do her job properly or completely. It’s my health that matters to me and not how her office looks like or if her staff smiles at me or not. Bottom line: think twice before you go to see Dr Maryann Prewitt!

The office is decorated nicely. The staff was very friendly. I showed up on time for my visit, waited thirty minutes before being called back. Waited another 30 minutes before I even saw the doctor (due to being short-staffed & computer issues). I had to move rooms twice...the first time they didn't have the proper materials for my exam; the second time because the room wasn't cleaned properly. Before my exam, I had to meet with the doctor in her office - she didn't close the door, so I had to talk about my issues openly while patients and nurses stood outside the door (a little uncomfortable). I did like the doctor. She was nice and made me feel comfortable during the actual exam. This was my first visit, so I'd be willing to give her a second chance. The whole office seemed a little frazzled w/ the short staffing and technical difficulties, so I'm sure my next experience will be better.
