He is primarily responsible for the oversight and management of the residency training program, which focuses on training the next generation of leaders in urology. He has helped lead the program to become one of the best and most competitive training programs in the country, emphasizing holistic, innovative, and well-rounded training to help residents reach their full potential. Dr. Sorensen’s translational research efforts focus on improving the detection, sizing, repositioning, and breaking of kidney stones with ultrasound through a strong collaborative effort with the UW Applied Physics Lab and the Center for Industrial and Medical Ultrasound group.
