Getting to know Matthew Brown
Hello! My name is Matt Brown, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s in Nursing from Walden University. Helping you is my top priority. It may take some time as we navigate this world of mental health, but we will work together to achieve the results you desire. I am nonjudgmental and want you to feel comfortable during your appointment. I am excited to meet you and be your mental health provider. I work with all age groups and all disorders.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I start low with medications dosages for my patients because we don't know how they are going to work. We will adjust medications as necessary to get the results you want. I want my patients to feel like they can tell me whatever they are comfortable with in a warm and caring atmosphere. If you need to cry during the session or it's hard to get your words out, that's okay. We will work through it together.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
1) Schedule Your Appointment by selecting your preferred date and time.
2) You will receive an email invitation to set up your Charm PHR Portal. This portal allows you to complete necessary paperwork, access appointment details, and communicate with your provider.
3) After logging into the Charm PHR, you’ll find your intake paperwork under questionnaires. Please complete these forms as soon as possible to ensure a smooth first visit.
4) Set Up Your Headway Account (If applicable). You will receive a sign-up email from Headway. This is used for billing and insurance purposes. Follow the instructions to verify your account.
5) Once your intake paperwork is submitted, you will receive additional clinical assessments to complete before your appointment.
6) After all forms and assessments are completed, you’re all set for your first visit!

I was very nervous going into this, but my experience with Matt was very reassuring. I really appreciate his thoughtful and cautious approach with medication. I love that he took the time before our visit to do his own research instead of coming in blind. Matt was very patient and answered every single question I had (I had many) I never felt rushed or like I was a burden. I look forward to our next visit.
