What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe mental health care should be personal, collaborative, and focused on the why behind how you’re feeling—not simply treating a list of symptoms. Our visits are a conversation, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I’ll take the time to understand your history, challenges, goals, lifestyle, and what you’ve already tried. When appropriate, we may also explore factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, medications, and other aspects of your overall health that can influence mental well-being. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and empowered in your care. We’ll work together to create a treatment plan that makes sense for you, whether that includes medication, lifestyle changes, therapy recommendations, or a combination of approaches. I want you to leave each visit with a better understanding of what’s happening and a clear plan for moving forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is thorough, personalized, and focused on understanding the bigger picture. During your initial appointment, we’ll take a detailed look at your current symptoms, mental health and medical history, medications, family history, lifestyle, stressors, and previous treatment experiences. I’ll use this information to clarify your diagnosis and identify factors that may be contributing to what you’re experiencing. From there, we’ll create an individualized treatment plan based on your goals and preferences. Depending on your needs, this may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, targeted laboratory testing, genetic testing, or other approaches that may help us better understand how your body and brain are responding to treatment. Follow-up visits focus on your progress, response to treatment, side effects, and any changes in your symptoms or circumstances. We’ll make adjustments together as needed rather than simply continuing the same plan indefinitely. I do not provide psychotherapy or talk therapy. My practice is focused on psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and an integrative approach to mental health. When therapy would be beneficial, I encourage working with a qualified therapist and can coordinate care when appropriate.
