Getting to know Dr. Matthew Markis

An in-person visit may be required depending on your treatment needs, such as, but not limited to, certain prescriptions. Your clinician will work with you to determine an appropriate treatment plan. Dr. Markis is a Board-Certified Adult and Adolescent Psychiatrist specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury, Sports-Related Concussions, ADHD, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, and completed his residency training at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. His treatment model includes Medication Management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Psychotherapy. He believes adequate treatment often involves more than just medication management and has pursued additional training in cognitive behavioral therapy for depression and anxiety, as well as motivational interviewing. He finds it rewarding to help clients with PTSD heal from past trauma and enjoys working with athletes. He believes in a holistic approach that includes mindfulness, work-life balance, diet, and exercise. Dr. Markis believes that everyone deserves a caring, competent psychiatrist regardless of their struggles, and helping those in difficult times is what led him to pursue a career in psychiatry. Pursuing psychiatric care can be a difficult challenge for many people, and Dr. Markis has committed himself to providing quality, individualized treatment in a friendly, non-judgmental manner. He enjoys working collaboratively with his patients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their treatment in order to achieve their goals.
