Dr. Matthew Stevenson, PhD

Psychologist
CA
I've worked with adolescents, young adults, and adults from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and in diverse settings. I see many people dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression, and I specialize in life transitions and adjustment, including experiences such as starting a new job, beginning college, becoming a new parent or transitioning to more than one child in the family, and family structural changes like separation and divorce. I also specialize in both academic research and clinical work on the role of fathers in the family and the issues fathers face. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Arizona State University, completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester, and pursued a fellowship at the University of Michigan. I've been interviewed as an expert by popular publications, including CNN and Wired, and my research has been cited in the Blog on Learning and Development and the Child and Family Blog. Outside of work, I enjoy the beautiful West Coast outdoors, hiking, travel, cooking, trying new foods, and music.
