Dr. Wells of Wells Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine is fellowship trained and board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 2008 and has been in private practice since 2005. Growing up in New Jersey, he developed a love for South Florida during the years invested in completing the intense University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency.
Dr. Wells graduated summa cum laude from the Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with highest honors from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, where he trained under Dr. James Andrews and had the opportunity to treat countless professional, collegiate, and high school athletes.
He served as an assistant team doctor for the Auburn University Tigers from 2004 to 2005 before moving to Fort Lauderdale. He continues to specialize in evaluating and treating athletes of all ages and competitive levels, from professionals to weekend warriors.
Dr. Wells specializes in shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle injuries. He prides himself on healing patients without surgery whenever possible. For injuries that do require surgery, he strives for a minimally invasive, frequently arthroscopic approach to speed healing, maximize recovery, and minimize pain and scarring. He also treats fractures and dislocations of all major bones using cutting-edge techniques and physical therapy and rehabilitation protocols.
Dr. Wells values his experience in college and medical school, where he worked several jobs to pay his expenses, shaping his dedication to patient care and hard work.

I went there to see a hand doctor. Doctor Wells does knee replacement? Their group doesn't have a hand doctor at the moment so I got some information, but I still have to go see a hand doctor.
I wish they had told me and I would have cancelled.
I have to pay for something I'm going to have to pay for again.

I had no idea how expensive an x ray and a couple of PT sessions would be. Very expensive so try to get as much info on pricing beforehand as possible. Dr. Wells is very very nice though. Their physical therapist is awesome too. Sweet lady. If you're going in for something small, just make sure you know what you're paying for.

The nurse was running behind with another patient so the actual doctor was the one who came out and got me from the waiting room and took my history. I was taken in about 5min after my appointment time and was out with x-rays, a shot, and a prescription within an hour. Pretty awesome service.
