She is dual certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner, bringing a comprehensive perspective to care that bridges physical and mental health. Maureen approaches each individual with compassion and personalized care, believing treatment should reflect the patient’s unique story, goals, and values. She begins by thoroughly assessing past and present experiences and collaborates closely with her patients to prioritize their needs. Maureen uses a stepwise approach to care, offering multiple treatment paths and empowering patients to choose the one that feels right to them.
With a background in exercise science and physical therapy, Maureen integrates medical and holistic practices to support psychiatric and forensic patients. She encourages individuals to self-advocate and engage in practices that promote wellness—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Maureen’s journey into psychiatry was inspired by her experiences as a bedside nurse in hospitals, correctional settings, and forensic care, where she recognized the gaps in advocacy for vulnerable populations. She felt called to bring compassion and empathy to individuals who are often overlooked, finding fulfillment in providing basic care and comfort to those affected by trauma. Her time working in a psychiatric emergency room strengthened her belief in the importance of consistent, quality outpatient care—something she is proud to provide through her work at Mindpath Health.

The clinician was on time, made introductions to gather enough information to best develop a treatment plan. She was able to shift topics quickly as we talked through various options. When discussing treatment modalities, she cited evidence from studies which was extremely encouraging. She referenced a lot of clinical language but not such that is was overwhelming or above my head. She made several recommendations, went through the pros and cons of each. Gave her general succession but still reverted back to me for final input. This was nice as I felt like I had a lot of input in the process and ownership in my treatment plan moving forward. I was somewhat skeptical of the zocdoc process initially; however with Maureen Apollo, any skepticism was immediately eliminated. Excellent experience. Go for it if you are questioning. Well worth it!

Great listener! Ms. Apollo seemed very knowledgeable about meds and my diagnoses. She was very approachable and easy to talk to. Even though it was a virtual appointment I connected with her as if it was an in person session. She gave me some local recommendations for psychologists she’s worked well with and even gave me some action steps to take before our next meeting. It felt like a very positive, productive 1st meeting. Highly recommend!
