Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
NY
*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment* I’m a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Hunter College. Before becoming a PMHNP, I built my nursing foundation in environments that taught me the importance of human connection in care. My most impactful work came from a women’s psychiatric shelter, where I had the privilege of supporting clients who were often overlooked by the system. That experience grounded me in advocacy and reminded me daily why our most vulnerable deserve the highest quality care. I’ve also worked in joyful, unexpected spaces, like clinical ear piercing, where I helped create happy memories for children and adults. Today, I bring that same passion and adaptability to my work as a psychiatric provider. My care is informed by a humanistic, person-centered approach that emphasizes warmth, collaboration, and practical support. I’ve worked with patients from age 6 to 101, and from all walks of life, including tech professionals, creatives, physicians, undocumented individuals, and those navigating homelessness or the criminal justice system. My clinical interests include complex psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar I, schizoaffective disorder, and C-PTSD, as well as high-functioning anxiety, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. I bring years of experience working in an Article 31 clinic, managing care across a wide diagnostic spectrum. I’m especially skilled with patients who are navigating the metabolic side effects of antipsychotic treatment. It’s a privilege to support people in seeing themselves not just as a diagnosis, but as whole, dynamic humans with strengths, passions, and potential.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You won’t find sterile or disconnected care here. I’m committed to being real, curious, and collaborative with my patients, and that means showing up with humor, compassion, and a practical lens. I value education and transparency in the room. My sessions are a space where you can ask questions, get clear on your options, and make informed decisions about your mental health. I’ll never pretend to know more about your life than you do. Instead, I’ll work with you to build care plans that reflect your values and goals, whether that involves medication, therapy, skill-building, or simply having a safe place to land each week. I’m especially passionate about supporting folks who’ve been historically excluded from care or told their struggles are “too much.” That includes patients with serious mental illness, people who feel stuck in cycles of avoidance or perfectionism, and those who’ve had negative or dismissive experiences in psychiatric settings. I love working with people who have incredible insight but struggle with follow-through, and I’ve found a lot of joy in supporting autistic individuals through group art therapy, social connection, and sensory-informed care. I want you to feel safe enough to be yourself, and supported enough to grow. Whether you need space to reflect, structure to make change, or someone to hold your story with care, I’m here to help.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session will be a chance to get to know each other and understand what’s bringing you in. I’ll learn your history, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what you hope for moving forward. From there, we’ll co-create a treatment plan that could include therapy, medication, or both, depending on your needs and preferences. I use evidence-based approaches like humanistic therapy, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction to guide our conversations. Humanistic therapy is grounded in the belief that every person deserves unconditional positive regard and the opportunity to grow into their most authentic self. Motivational interviewing is a collaborative style of communication that helps you explore ambivalence and make meaningful change without pressure. Harm reduction meets you where you are, recognizing that healing doesn’t require perfection; it just requires support and honesty. In ongoing sessions, you can expect a mix of reflection and action. We might explore emotional patterns, track progress toward goals, troubleshoot challenges with medications, or simply talk through what’s on your mind that day. My style is warm, educational, and sometimes playful. I believe laughter and insight can coexist. My job isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to walk alongside you as you take back ownership of your mental health and move toward the life you want.
