About Mayra Karen Varela

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2020, with experience across clinical, outpatient, and wellness settings. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition from Florida International University. My approach focuses on creating sustainable habits that empower patients to take control of their health while considering cultural and personal preferences. I believe in a balanced approach to nutrition that combines evidence-based strategies with compassionate support. I can conduct sessions in English and Spanish. I have worked with a diverse range of patients managing conditions like obesity, diabetes, and gastrointestinal issues, as well as providing clinical nutrition care in a hospital setting. My mission is to empower patients with the knowledge and tools to feel their best long-term. Outside of my work, I love spending time with my family, hiking, and discovering new foods. I'm also pursuing a certification in positive psychology to enhance the support I provide to my patients on their wellness journeys.
