About Dr. Meenakshi Manivannan
Dr. Meenakshi Manivannan is a board-certified dermatologist seeing patients at our Denton location. She provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology care, treating conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, alopecia, and other chronic skin disorders. Dr. Manivannan also specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer, including melanoma.
She completed her dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and has advanced training in surgical dermatology, dermatopathology, skin of color, hair loss, scarring, and cosmetic skin rejuvenation. It felt like she was rushing me out and barely examined my skin before prescribing medication. She didn’t ask about the products I was currently using or take the time to gather any background information. I was in the room for no more than 10 minutes. She gave my skin a quick glance, asked maybe two questions, and then began information dumping. It didn’t feel personal at all…I don’t even think she knew my name. Her bedside manner was very poor and definitely needs improvement, which was extremely disappointing.
The office itself also felt very outdated and doesn’t appear to have been renovated since the 90s. The only positive part of the visit was the esthetician, who was very kind and had excellent bedside manner. Honestly, the doctor could take notes from her.

The office staff was not very friendly, doctor Meenakshi was friendly enough. I got less than 10 minutes of time with the doctor. Felt very rushed and didn’t do any tests or intensive questions to figure out what is going on. Verbally recommended products and routine that could help with symptoms, when I asked to get that written out they made it seem like a crazy ask. I was not sent me home with notes and still haven’t received 2 days later. Will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone.

The receptionist at the front window is not that friendly. First impressions are important. I feel like to be greeted is important. It sets the time for the visit.
Lauren the nurse assistant was wonderful.
I feel like for all wound care should have written instructions with specific instructions given to the patient.
After I left the office and before I made it home, my biopsied wound started bleeding into my shoe. I called the office 3 times in a little panic and the phone was never answered. I just drove back and Lauren immediately helped me. The phone service needs some better options and needs to be answered.

Very bad experience from the office. We booked the appointment and when we reached the office was closed and when we called they told the doctor is in a different location. We drove 40 mins to reach the office mentioned in the appointment, and this was a totally disappointing situation.

Dr Meena and Lauren were amazing. This was my first visit to a dermatologist and they made me feel incredibly comfortable. Dr Meena shared her recommendation and listened to my concerns. She took care of everything I came in for on the spot and should I need to come back I would be happy to be in her care. Lauren was a ray of sunshine and made every step feel smooth. They are a great team, the best doctor's appointment I've ever had!

Extremely disappointing experience!
My 10–15 min appointment was billed under a high-level CPT code meant for 45+ min, complex visits. Upon checking with Billing, they carelessly told they CHARGE ALL NEW PATIENTS THE HIGHEST CODE, regardless of time spent or complexity—completely unreasonable. No tests were done, and the doctor showed little interest in addressing my concerns. The visit felt rushed and superficial. They also ignored the coinsurance listed on Zocdoc and demanded full payment upfront with no clear explanation. Staff were rude and even shut the door while insisting I pay immediately. This felt more like a predatory billing scheme than a legitimate medical practice. Strongly caution others to stay away.
Additionally Zocdoc will lose its trust if it includes such providers on list and shows wrong amount estimation rather than actual visit costs!

So there was some confusion in regards to why I was there. Initially, the doctor wasn't aware I was there for a full body scan. She thought I just had a few areas of concern. I had to tell her. So I was a little frustrated by that, but she apologized and was very nice.

I’d describe my experience with Dr. Meenakshi Manivannan excellent! She was attentive, and really took the time to listen to my concerns. Her friendly demeanor and thoughtful questions made me feel comfortable, and the treatment plan she provided was clear and helpful. I would definitely go back—it’s rare to find a doctor who balances professionalism with such genuine care.
