What should a new client know about working with you?

!! PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING !! • Medicare is NOT accepted (self-pay visits available) • Denver Health Medicaid Choice (DHMC) is NOT accepted • Some medications may require an in-person visit or recent physical exam ----- -- Our Practice May Be a Good Fit If You Are Looking For -- • A thoughtful psychiatric evaluation • Medication management with a holistic approach to mental health • Collaborative, long-term treatment planning -- Benzodiazepine Policy -- If you are currently prescribed a benzodiazepine (such as Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, or Valium), please note that our practice generally follows a benzodiazepine taper or reduction approach. This supports safe, evidence-based care and helps reduce risks associated with long-term use, including dependence, tolerance, and cognitive side effects. -- Controlled Medication Policy -- • Controlled medications (such as stimulants or certain anxiety medications) may be prescribed when clinically appropriate. • Federal regulations may require an in-person evaluation at our Monument, Colorado office before certain controlled medications can be prescribed. • Controlled medications may be prescribed to patients located in both Colorado and Minnesota when clinically appropriate and compliant with state and federal regulations. I believe effective psychiatric care requires both clinical precision and genuine partnership. With eight years of experience managing mental health medications, I work closely with patients to develop treatment plans that are evidence-based, realistic, and aligned with their goals. I value transparency, consistency, and steady follow-through so patients feel supported—not rushed—through the process of finding what works.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In my practice, I begin with a comprehensive evaluation to understand each patient’s symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and personal goals for treatment. This initial visit allows us to identify the concerns that are most affecting daily life and determine an appropriate treatment plan. I primarily focus on medication management for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and trauma-related concerns. When medication is recommended, I take time to explain options, potential benefits, and possible side effects so patients can make informed decisions about their care. Follow-up visits focus on monitoring progress, adjusting medications when needed, and ensuring treatment remains effective and well tolerated. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while maintaining an open and collaborative relationship with each patient. I encourage patients to ask questions, share concerns, and take an active role in their treatment so we can work together toward meaningful and lasting improvement.
