My experience with NorthShore Health Centers’ OB department has been a mix of positives and negatives. My in-person visits have been mostly good—the providers are knowledgeable, and I’ve felt well cared for during appointments. However, there are a few aspects of their care that have been frustrating.
The after-hours line has been a major disappointment. I’ve had to call twice—once for a serious concern—and was shocked to find out the next business day that there was no record of my call. The second time, the doctor I spoke with was very rude and dismissive, failing to ask necessary questions or take my concerns seriously. That kind of treatment is unsettling, especially during pregnancy.
Another challenge has been their approach to prenatal care. They have patients meet every OB in the department since they can’t guarantee who will be there for delivery. While I understand the reasoning, it has made it difficult to create a solid birth plan or establish a strong connection with one
