Hi there. My name is Megen. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with six years of experience working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and with diverse mental health needs. My primary role is to provide thoughtful medication management, complemented by supportive therapy when appropriate.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a careful and individualized approach to medication recommendation. Before considering medication, I take the time to gather a thorough history, understand your concerns, and ask purposeful questions to determine whether medication is appropriate and likely to be beneficial. While medication can be an important part of treatment, it is not always necessary or the right choice for everyone. If I recommend medication, it is because I believe it may provide meaningful benefit based on your individual needs and circumstances.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the end of your initial appointment, I will provide recommendations and discuss available options with you. Together, we will develop a treatment plan that feels appropriate and aligns with your goals. You are the most important person in the appointment, and your perspective, preferences, and comfort are always an important part of the decisions we make together. I have extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, mood changes, anger, trauma-related concerns, sleep difficulties, among other mental health concerns. I look forward to getting to know you, understanding what you are experiencing, and working together toward a treatment approach that is right for you. I work as part of a team at Blue Lotus Telepsychiatry Services, Inc. Upon scheduling your first session with me, you will be asked to complete a group of forms to help me get to know you a little beforehand, and then we will meet for about 60 minutes to discuss things more in depth. We will come up with the best treatment that makes sense for you, and schedule a follow up appointment within 2-4 weeks after that. Subsequent follow ups could range between 4-12 weeks depending on your comfort level and stability.
