About Melanie Cap
I am pediatric SLP and the owner of CAP Speech Therapy, a concierge-based practice designed to provide highly individualized, relationship driven care for children and their families. With a background in Deaf Studies and advanced training in oral motor therapy, including Beckman certification, I specialize in supporting children with speech, language, and feeding challenges through evidence based and functional approaches.
In addition to direct care, I lead and mentor a team of seven therapists, ensuring that every family we serve receives consistent, high quality support. My role allows me to oversee clinical programming, guide treatment planning, and maintain a standard of excellence across all providers. This structure gives families the benefit of both individualized attention and a collaborative team approach.
Our practice has been recognized twice in ASHA magazine, reflecting our commitment to innovation and meaningful outcomes in the field of speech-language pathology. I have also developed a globally recognized parent coaching program that empowers caregivers with practical strategies they can confidently use in everyday life. This program is a cornerstone of our model, as I strongly believe that progress happens most effectively when families are supported and involved.
Our concierge model sets us apart from traditional clinic based therapy. Rather than requiring families to travel to a clinic, we provide services in natural environments such as the home, community, or school. This approach allows therapy to be more functional, accessible, and relevant to each child's daily life. It also supports stronger rapport, increased engagement, and consistent carryover skills. Our services are offered in English and Spanish for both in-person and teletherapy.
My goal is to provide a level of care that we rarely see nowadays. Every child and family is unique, and our approach reflects that by prioritizing flexibility, connection, and real world progress.

I’m so glad my friend referred us to Melanie. My son started with her for help with articulation and some stuttering, and the progress he’s made in just four months has been amazing. We’re already getting ready to drop down to once a month, which I didn’t expect this quickly.
One of the best parts is how much he actually loves his sessions. I’ve overheard a few of his Zoom calls, and he told her it’s his favorite thing he does during the week. They’re laughing, playing, and working on his goals the whole time, which is so nice to hear as a parent.
It’s been such a relief to see him more confident and improving so much. We feel really lucky to have found Melanie.

Melanie is truly exceptional. From the very first interaction, her warmth, kindness, and genuine care made it incredibly easy to connect with her. She has a natural way of making both parents and children feel comfortable and understood, which made all the difference for us.
We were able to get started quickly, and right away we felt supported, heard, and confident that we were in the right hands. What really stood out was how quickly we began to see progress—it was both encouraging and reassuring during a time when we needed it most.
Finding the right fit for your child can be stressful, but with Melanie, that stress completely melted away. She brings not only expertise, but also compassion and dedication to everything she does. We feel so grateful to have found her and couldn’t recommend her more highly.
