Dr. Kinchen received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Yale University in 1990. In 1995 she graduated from Harvard Medical School. During that time, she served as a lead researcher on several projects in the Orthopaedics Biomechanics Laboratory in Boston, Massachusetts. After medical school, she completed her Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Kostuik Spine and Deformity Fellowship at top-ranked Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She then relocated to Los Angeles, California where she was the medical director of a hospital-based spine center until 2010. She then relocated to Texas in 2010 and has established her own private practice with 2 office locations in Fort Worth and Grapevine, Texas to better serve the needs of those in the Dallas Fort Worth Community. Dr. Kinchen is an accomplished and dynamic lecturer, adept at educating both clinical and non-clinical audiences. In 2008, the publication Black Enterprise placed her on the Hotlist for Top Professionals under 40 in the United States. Her expertise is sought by several spinal companies and she serves as a consultant and lecturer for many. She enjoys speaking to young people and loves to help them navigate their career choices. Dr. Kinchen is an active member of both the Yale and Harvard Alumni associations where she has the privilege of interviewing potential admission candidates and mentoring them on what they can expect when they attend her alma maters.
