First Visit, Last Visit: Unexpected Charges on a Covered Preventive Exam
TL;DR: Came in for a routine covered exam, was charged a copay I was promised would be refunded, kept my visit strictly preventive, and was still billed for an additional code the provider added without my knowledge.
1st visit here for my routine annual preventive exam, the same visit I've had every year with no issues elsewhere. Before seeing the doctor, I was asked to pay a copay upfront and told I'd be automatically reimbursed if the visit was purely preventive.
I brought their own written notes on what preventive care includes, asked no extra questions + stayed strictly within that scope. The doctor performed the standard checkup (felt very comfy) .
Weeks passed, no reimbursement. I eventually learned the provider billed two codes: one for the preventive exam and one for a "problem-focused evaluation." That second code triggered the copay, added without my consent. Seems systematical after reading reviews!

The machine needed for my appointment was down but I was not notified prior to arrival or until after I paid the copay. They were unable to fulfill my appointment needs and did refund me. Everyone was very nice and understanding but I would have appreciated prior communication especially since the reason for my visit was stated prior.

I don’t even meet with the provider listed. The office was very chaotic. Had like four different people looking at my vagina. Bathroom was dirty had no toilet tissue. Everyone seemed In a rush and my questions were barely answered. Will not be comg back here. Very unstable environment
