What should a new client know about working with you?

As a psychologist who I work with children, adolescents, and adults, I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between the patient and therapist. My approach is to work with each individual to identify their unique needs and goals, and to tailor treatment to meet those specific needs. I utilize a wide range of techniques and modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and play therapy for children. I believe that each individual is unique and therefore, my approach is flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of each patient. We will meet on my HIPPA compliant platform at doxy.me the link will be provided after you schedule your appointment and we have a free brief consultation phone call. During our sessions, I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where patients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. My goal is to help patients gain insight into their challenges and provide them with the tools and skills they need to overcome them. I encourage patients to be open and honest with me about their experiences, thoughts, and feelings. I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is critical to the success of treatment, and I strive to foster a supportive and trusting relationship with each patient. Overall, my approach is focused on helping patients grow and achieve their goals in a way that is tailored to their individual needs and preferences. I am committed to working collaboratively with each patient to help them find the best path forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The structure and content of a session with me can vary depending upon the each persons individual needs and preferences, and the specific goals of the therapy. Generally speaking I begin the session asking the patient to review the week and any successes or challenges or changes that they observed. We may then discuss your goals for the session, identifying specific issues to be addressed, or reviewing homework or progress from previous sessions. The bulk of the session will typically involve us engaging in a dialogue about the your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I may ask questions to help the you explore your experiences, emotions, and thoughts. I may also provide guidance or feedback to help the you better understand their situation and develop strategies for managing your symptoms or addressing your concerns. As the session draws to a close, I will often summarize what was discussed during the session and check in with to ensure they feel they received what they needed from the session. We may also discuss opportunities for how you can continue to work on your goals between sessions. End of the session we will often engage in some brief reflection and discuss scheduling the next appointment before ending the session. It is important to be aware that the specific structure and content of each session will depend on the unique needs and preferences you may have. Some sessions may focus more on discussing specific problems or challenges, while others may involve more general exploration of your past and how it affects you today. My goal is to be of service to you and help you move closer to your goals and finding more joy in life.
