Her knowledge about general health, food, diets, and diabetes is outstanding compared to several endocrinologist who I have seen for this problem. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about her work that it makes it easy to try to fall in line and be well. I learned more about food, diet and diabetes management than I ever knew. And I practiced medicine for 35 years. The program is great.

About Melissa Alazraki
Melissa was working in the art world when she realized she craved a career change. At first, she considered pursuing social work, given her love for working one-on-one with people. While searching for programs, she stumbled upon the Clinical Nutrition program at New York University, where she earned her Master's degree. The lightbulb went on-she found a career path that encompassed her two great passions: food and counseling. Fifteen years later, Melissa still feels the same spark when helping people better understand their bodies, navigate health obstacles, and brainstorm fun, new recipe ideas. Before joining the Culina Health team, Melissa worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, most recently using her extensive diabetes knowledge to improve her patients' outcomes through nutrition and lifestyle modifications at NYU Langone. She also holds a Bachelor's degree from Wellesley College.

Like most new things, it took a moment, perhaps two minutes, to feel comfortable with Melissa, but after that is was quite like speaking with a friend or a colleague. Melissa has been quite informative, supportive and encouraging. Helping me set realistic goals and Ines that feel right for me!

Melissa is great to work with. She is upbeat and empathetic and provides useful tips to help me reach my dietary and overall health goals. She always starts our sessions on time and provides detailed follow up notes so I can remember what we discussed and incorporate changes into my day to day life. I look forward to our conversations and feel I am on the right track to achieving my goals.
