“She was very calm and welcoming from the start, she made my partner and I feel very relaxed, comfortable, and we already feel a difference after one meeting, we will continue to see her but are more hopeful than ever about our future together. She was very professional and for someone who really was against this kind of doctors visit my opinion was changed for the better at the end. Would recommend her to my friends and family.”

Getting to know Dr. Melissa Kresch

Depression. Anxiety. Stress. Insomnia. Grief from divorce, job loss, or death of a loved one. Feeling stuck. Difficulties at work and in relationships. Feeling lost. Overwhelmed by self-doubt. Continuing harmful behaviors. Needing to clear everyday concerns. I'm trained to help. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from City University of New York, The Graduate Center, completed an internship at Saint Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, and earned a Master’s in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University. As a Clinical Psychologist in NYC for over 20 years and Senior Supervising Psychologist at a major metropolitan hospital, where I supervise and train clinicians, I have extensive experience with individuals, couples, and families. I provide clients space to better understand themselves, gain new perspectives, and develop insights leading to better choices and improved quality of life. Our work equips you with tools to cope with life’s pitfalls and obstacles. Clients experience lasting benefits, including improved relationships, a more satisfying career, and greater stability. I believe the clinician/patient relationship is collaborative. I see my role as a facilitator to uncover root problems with the goal of living a more fulfilling life. My compassionate, non-judgmental approach clarifies and reduces psychological conflicts by helping you gain insight into thoughts, feelings, and actions often outside awareness. Life can be difficult, painful, and challenging. As your collaborative partner, this therapeutic process provides a time and place to reflect—an oasis—to focus on yourself, be heard, and eliminate outside distractions. Although I do not accept insurance, I provide statements for out-of-network reimbursement.

Dr. Kresch she was a great listener. We came to her with a very complex problem in our fairly recent yet very intense relationship. She asked good questions and really knew how to help us open up. I am glad we found her!
Dr. Kresch is an amazingly skilled psychologist. She is very easy to talk to, kind and friendly. If you're going through a difficult time or need to gain insight to emotional patterns I highly recommend that make an appointment with Dr. Kresch.
Dr. Kresch exudes calm, offers keen insight into your emotional patterns, makes you feel important, and you don't dread going to therapy! Relief!
Although I was, at first, quite nervous and distraught, Dr Kresch's calm soothing manner put me at ease. She astutely helped me understand how I had gotten into my current difficulties and how I could get myself out. I left with a sense of relief, hope and renewed energy.
