Getting to know Melissa Morales

Melissa Morales is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their CA license number is 132877, and their current employer is Foresight Mental Health. Melissa earned a Master’s in Psychology from Pepperdine University. I am passionate about creating a safe, warm, and culturally humble environment for individuals and couples to explore their unique life-shaping experiences and to develop skills they can use to navigate their difficulties. I aim to help others start their journey of connecting to themselves and understanding their multifaceted identities.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize a collaborative approach and a systems perspective to gain a deeper understanding of my clients. I enjoy supporting clients in understanding their needs, establishing healthy boundaries, and exploring their diverse identities. As a first-generation Mexican-American, I understand the importance of exploring complex systems and family history that shape where we are today. Working from the framework of your lived experience, we will unfold the context you have lived through and develop strong skills to navigate your relationship with yourself, your family, and your community.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My ultimate goal is to understand you as an individual and provide a space where you can become your authentic self. I have had success working within the LQBTQ+ POC community as well as with children of immigrants. I enjoy joining my clients on their path to self-acceptance and self-empowerment.
