Melody Bourret

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
2505 Walnut St, Ste 300, Boulder, CO
Great to meet you! My name is Melody Bourret, and I graduated from Regis University in Denver with a Master's of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. I am a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have more than 10 years of experience in health care and am dedicated to working with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attentional and cognitive concerns, as well as other mental health conditions. I believe that holistic approaches to complex mental health problems make up the most effective treatments, integrating mind, body, and spirit. I will work with you to first fully understand your symptoms prior to offering various medication options, and will incorporate sleep, diet, exercise, and counseling approaches to provide the most benefit. I offer convenient appointments that meet your schedule - whether in-office at my central Boulder office, or via tele-health. I live in Boulder, Colorado, with my husband and 2 wonderful daughters, and enjoy camping, mountain biking, and skiing in the Colorado mountains.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe mental health care should be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to the whole person. Together, we’ll explore treatment options that may include medication management, lifestyle strategies, and supportive approaches designed to restore balance in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When working with new clients, I begin with a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand your full story — not just your symptoms. This initial process is a collaborative conversation where we explore your history, lifestyle, and what's brought you to seek care, giving me a well-rounded picture of who you are and what you need. From there, I develop a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy, and holistic supports such as mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, and stress reduction strategies. My approach integrates mind, body, and spirit, so sessions can look different depending on where you are in your care — sometimes focused on medication and symptom tracking, other times more exploratory and talk-based. Throughout our work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and empowered, so that treatment feels like something we're building together rather than something being prescribed to you.
