About Dr. Meltem Ates
Dr. Meltem Ates graduated summa cum laude from St. Francis College in Brooklyn. Upon graduation, she attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed a four-year surgical residency training at New York Presbyterian/ Queens where she was comprehensively trained in reconstructive and elective surgery of the foot and ankle. She completed multiple educational courses focusing on both internal fixation as well as arthroscopic surgery. She is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and board certified by American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She is a compassionate physician who always takes the patient’s goals and lifestyle into account prior to establishing a treatment plan.

Bit chaotic. I wasn’t fond of the doctor mentioning out loud “who booked non priority appointments” with what she might have thought were more serious ones. It made me feel like like my appointment wasn’t important. Also, was told I didn’t have an ingrown nail but was given post op instructions on ingrown recovery procedure. I was confused. I felt very rushed. Not sure I would recommend to family or friends.

I had an outstanding experience with Dr. Ates. She is incredibly knowledgeable and honest. Instead of pushing unnecessary treatments, she recommended the best course of action. She takes time to explain everything thoroughly, easing all concerns. I even asked extra questions, and she patiently answered them all. I highly recommend her!
