I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). I have over 14 years of nursing experience managing acute and chronic disease conditions, as well as psychiatric and mental health disorders in patients across the lifespan. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Lakeview College of Nursing in 2007, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Governors State University in 2016, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Northern Kentucky University in 2021. Additionally, I completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Saint Francis in 2020. I also hold a degree in Journalism and English. I am certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a PMHNP-BC and by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as an FNP-C. What should a new client know about working with you?

I am committed to helping my patients achieve total remission of their symptoms. I am a provider who will listen to you, understand your pain, and offer the best treatment recommendations tailored to your unique needs, because that is what you deserve. I will thoroughly assess your symptoms, order lab work, if necessary, discard and or confirm a diagnosis, before formulating a treatment plan, be it counseling or medications. I will follow up with you at least every two weeks initially, then monthly to make sure the treatment is effective. If necessary, I will refer you to another specialist. More importantly, my patients can reach reach me directly, 10 hours a day, Monday through Friday, via cell phone and email for emergency purposes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In a typical session, I will actively listen to your current concerns, your history, and your goals for the future. I will conduct an initial psychiatric evaluation and more specific assessments of your symptoms to determine the severity and the best course of action. If necessary, I will email self-assessment forms to you. This gives me a quantified report of the severity of your symptoms, and the best plan for treatment. I utilize the DSM-5 manual for all mental health disorder diagnosis. I am thorough, and will examine not only your mental health, but any other aspect of your life that could be a root cause to your current symptoms. As a board certified psychiatric mental health Nurse practitioner, I utilize Motivational Interviewing, supportive therapy, individual long and short-term psychotherapy, Pharmacotherapy utilizing SSRI, SNRI, TCA, MAOIs, anticonvulsants, anti-psychotics, mood stabilizers, stimulants, non-stimulants, etc. to treat my patients. Referral for ECT, EKG, Lab workup etc. if needed. …
