About Dr. Mert Erogul
Mert Erogul, MD, is a physician with over twenty-five years of patient care experience. Dr. Erogul graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in 1997 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Obesity Medicine and is the Medical Bariatrician in the Maimonides Medical Center Division of Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Erogul serves on the editorial board of the journal Obesity Pillars and is deeply knowledgeable about metabolic health, obesity science, and geroscience, and is excited about the profound possibilities in these fields.

The follow-up for prescribing the medication has dragged on for a month + I call them every week to initiate the prior authorization and get told his secretary will initiate it. Week by week nothing has changed. If I could prescribe it myself I would. Otherwise he’s very charismatic and has a good bedside manner. It’s the follow up action items that he’s dragging his feet on.
