Psychologist
1100 H Street, NW, Ste 840, Washington, DC
Hi, I’m Dr. Mia Robben, a Licensed Counseling Psychologist dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of life with clarity, self-awareness, and compassion. I work with clients across the lifespan, and have particular expertise supporting young adults through times of transition, identity exploration, and emotional distress. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, chronic illness, or body image concerns, I provide a grounded and culturally attuned space to support your growth. My therapeutic approach is integrative and collaborative. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a broader framework of Family Systems, Interpersonal, and Humanistic theories. I also incorporate evidence-based techniques such as DBT, Exposure Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing when appropriate. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and develop tools that move you toward greater emotional balance and self-understanding. I completed my doctorate at the University of Denver and received advanced clinical training through an APA-accredited internship at UC Santa Cruz and a postdoctoral fellowship at George Washington University. I’ve worked in university counseling centers, military medical settings, and community practice, and I’m licensed in both Washington, D.C. and North Carolina. I’m committed to providing a safe and affirming environment for every client I meet.
