Dr. Michael Abrankian has been in private practice since 1995.
Raised in Sunnyside, Queens, he graduated from Queen of Angels Elementary School and Holy Cross High School. He attended Adelphi University and then went on to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences. He also earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Whittier, California.
Dr. Abrankian completed an additional three-year postgraduate diplomate program in Chiropractic Orthopedics at New York Chiropractic College.
Upon graduation, Dr. Abrankian was an associate doctor in one of Southern California's largest chiropractic offices, where he cared for many various types of spinal ailments. Wanting to be back "home," he opened the Abrankian Back & Neck Center in 1995.
Dr. Abrankian is constantly striving to improve and update his knowledge in the field of spinal medicine.
Community Service
Active in promoting chiropractic in the community, Dr. Abrankian has spoken to numerous clubs and organizations and welcomes invitations to address various health topics. Being dedicated to serving the community in every way, the Abrankian Back & Neck Center has sponsored an annual food drive for the Sunnyside Community Center.

Dr. Abrankian is an active member of the New York Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association. He is also a board member of the Romanian Medical Society of New York and, on December 12, 2010, was recognized as their "Doctor of the Year - 2010."

If you are a woman, avoid unless you enjoy watching this doctor inappropriately address his female staff as “sweetie”. I am a younger woman under 35– I found he deliberately talked over my head and condescended me when I answered honestly about my condition. I’m not attending an appointment to be treated like a child, how embarrassing for this medical provider to behave this way as a professional. There are so many chiropractors in NYC that you as a patient deserve to shop around for good bedside manner, and this should not be one of those stops. Chiropractors are a dime a dozen since they aren’t medical doctors, I won’t be returning.
