About Dr. Michael Ahmann
Dr. Michael Ahmann has been a resident of Phoenix since 1980. He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Industrial Technology, before working for 14 years in the computer industry.
In 1997, he returned to his alma mater to take his pre-med studies, after which he attended Midwestern University medical school from 2001 to 2005. After his medical internship at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Dr. Ahmann finished his residency in Family Medicine at Phoenix Baptist Hospital in 2008.
As a practitioner with proven skills and knowledge, Dr. Ahmann is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Age Management Medicine at the Cenegenics Medical Institute before founding his first practice, Arizona Age Management.
Dr. Ahmann started Total Primary Care in 2009, using his experience with hospital, clinical, and urgent care to provide sound medical services to the people of Arizona.

Felt extremely welcomed by the staff as a new patient. Dr. Ahmann was extremely kind and offered such helpful insight and advice about my prescription regimine.

Dr Ahmann was not very effective as a doctor. His attitude and general knowledge were both highly lacking. I felt my visit was a complete waste of time as not only could he not come up with any kind of a diagnosis, but wasted more of my time by sending me to a podiatrist when my issue was clearly neurological. I have never had a doctor look at me and have his only reply be "that's weird".

I was very disappointed when after waiting almost 2 hours (came half hour early to fill out papers) he was not interested in how he could help me, but rather did nothing but ask questions required by Medicare. I was looking for a physician, I could have completed this yes/no answer form at home.

Doctor Ahmann is excellent at what he does. He listens and provides feedback that makes me feel like he has a vested interest in my health. He doesn't waste time, and when something needs to be done, he is quick to suggest we knock it out right then and there.

I saw Dr. Ahmann for several months for addiction treatment. At the time, he was the first doctor that I visited for treatment so I didn't have any basis to gauge his office's quality of service. After Dr. Ahmann's office mysteriously dismissed my as a patient without explanation, I sought out another doctor for addiction treatment. It was only after seeing my new doctor that I realized the many inadequacies of Dr. Ahmann's office. The primary difference is the quality of the attention that I receive. In Dr. Ahmann's office, I felt like a random stranger taking a number in line at a callously impersonal deli. Seek elsewhere for personal attention. That's my advice.

It was worth the wait, as he did not rush me along. He gave me insights that other doctors haven't. I'm now on one less medication thanks to him. I moved from Seattle and he was my PCP choice and I'm glad I made it. He isn't the closest to where I live, but worth the drive.
