Dr. Michael Dann is double board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology. Dr. Dann specializes in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, hemorrhoid treatment, GERD/heartburn, inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer prevention. Dr.Dann provides highly personalized and comprehensive care. His philosophy regarding the doctor/patient relationship is based on trust and has earned him one of the most respected reputations in NYC. Dr. Dann has had a distinguished career in the US Army and has served the Chief of Gastroenterology at two large academic centers during his career. Dr. Dann has also served as a medical director while deployed to Afghanistan and was the sole physician responsible for the care of over 2000 active duty and civilian personnel. Dr. Dann has received many awards throughout his medical career. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, NATO ISAF Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal and the Army Superior Unit Award. He has also received the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine Fellowship Research Award and was instrumental in obtaining the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit Recognition designation. Dr. Dann believes in taking an integrative approach towards medicine and the needs of each patient. Despite waiting for 35 minutes, Dr. Dann really took the time to listen to my concerns and do additional testing for peace of mind. Will definitely be returning!
Very nice doctor, but the office is too lackadaisical. 45-minute wait for a 10 AM appointment. And the office didn't give me the consent/release form I needed to have labs sent over. Very frustrating experience for me, but everyone behind the desk seemed to be having a great time.

Thought the Doctor himself was amazing. Thought the queue management for appts could be done better (I didn't see the doctor until 4:40pm and my appt was for 4). Overall though, the Doctor himself was awesome and would recommend him to others
Dr.Dann is one of the finest specialists in the Tristate area. His bedside manners are incredible & it's a rarity to find a doctor these days who genuinely makes an effort to understand the patient's anxiety without going crazy on tests and medicines. A shout out to the Nurse practitioners and support staff as well. Well behaved & they value time. Believe the reviews !!
This doctor has a horrible bedside manner. He used antiquated terms like homosexual during our patient encounter which is not an LGBTQ appropriate or inclusive term. He was 45 minutes late and did not apologize. In addition, his tone of voice was cold and remote and he seemed to have zero empathy. Would not return.

Dr. Dann was super caring and thorough thru my diagnosis. He was calm, patient, and I could tell he really knew what he was talking about after I went to him for a second opinion on my issue. I don't really leave feedback or reviews but Dr. Dann definitely deserved it. I'm feeling much better and while I'm not fully healed, it is because of him that I've felt better after months of pain. Highly Recommended!
