What is your typical process for working with clients?

For the first session, you will be warmly welcomed and interviewed. To make you comfortable, humor may be employed. The interview will start with finding out your reason for coming in. Then your present status will be detailed, and your full history taken. The interview proceeds with a thorough mental status psycho-diagnostic interview and if you are suspected of ADHD, you will be also administered a very well standardized rating scale. The psycho-diagnostic formulation is then discussed, and a treatment plan is suggested based on the interview data. During the typical session, with warm rapport we will collaboratively engage in CBT focused on problem solving, perspective taking, anxiety reduction, mood improvement, with the goals of improving functioning and life quality.

This Dr. hung up on the Zoom meeting with me. Raised his voice to the point I asked why he was yelling at me, was not focused. In and out of focus on the camera, yawning. Did not address my issues - just wi5h genetic platitudes. Was terrible. The first 2 appointments were better. I shared my value system with him which he made clear do not align with his. This could be the basis of this awful experience. If someone were desperate for direction and emotional relief, as so many are in today's difficult world, this could even have led to a dangerous outcome for the patient.
