As far back as I can remember, I knew I was a physician. My choice to become a dermatologist was one made from my heart, not my head. As a junior medical student at the University of Illinois, Chicago, I was assigned to shadow a dermatologist. Arriving at his office, I felt a strong connection, even before seeing patients. I completed my Doctor of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Chicago, followed by a residency in Dermatology at the University of Illinois Medical Center.
