“Dr. Hossack and the office staff were extremely professional and polite. The receptionist was very personable, professional and greeted me upon entry. The wait time to see Dr. Hossack was only about 20 minutes or so but I had to get some x-rays taken and THAT wait time was a little over an hour. The x-ray tech was professional and made sure to inform me of which room I needed to go back to once were done. But as I said before, the entire staff was very friendly and I thought it was very sweet that there was a nurse there that continually checked on me to make sure that I'd get gotten my x-rays done. I had a very pleasant experience :-)”

About Dr. Michael Hossack
Michael D. Hossack, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in treating sports injuries. He is an expert in performing arthroscopic knee surgery, including primary and revision ACL reconstruction, multiligament knee reconstruction, patella and quadriceps tendon primary repair and reconstruction, meniscus surgery, and patella instability surgery. He has a special interest for articular cartilage restoration surgery in the knee. In addition to board certification in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Hossack has additional Subspecialty Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
Dr. Hossack graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. While at Temple University, Dr. Hossack received a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grant for Medical Students to conduct orthopedic research. After medical school, Dr. Hossack completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center and continued his training at Montefiore to complete a fellowship in sports medicine.
He is the Director of Cartilage Restoration Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, where he specializes in meniscus repair and osteochondral allograft and autograft knee surgery. Dr. Hossack serves as Team Physician for several high schools in the Bronx and assists the physician team at Lehman College.
In addition to teaching orthopedic residents, Dr. Hossack teaches and supervises sports medicine fellows from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Hossack is a recipient of numerous awards including Patients’ Choice Award and Most Compassionate Physician Award based on the patients’ reviews.

Overall it was expedient. However, what I did not like was that once the xray was taken, and given a very quick-" It doesn't show anything, so we're gonna send you for an MRI"- they shooed me out to make the appointment at the front desk. If not for me asking about treatment in the interim(I had explained that i was in excruciating pain the night before) I would not have even been prescribed the Naproxem. I thought at minimum they would suggest a cane or crutch given that I was limping.

Dr. Hossack was excellent, he explained the issues clearly and in a collaborative manner. As a busy caregiver who also has a full time job and a family to tend to, Zocdoc has been an extremely helpful tool to schedule appointments for my parents and get them the care they need.

It was very nice little problem with my insurance but they call the insurance and everything was clear and rest was great , Dr.Hossack was very attentive and very friendly very helpful but won’t have to seen again but he referred me to a doctor and the staff make appointment for it was very of them, yes I will recommend doctor Hossack to any of my family and friends.

The Dr was great very friendly and efficient. The only issue was his staff called after hours and cancelled my follow up with giving a substitute date and I HAVE to see the dr 3-5 days after my MRI for some reason.

Dr. Hossack was very clear with the next steps to be taken for my issue. The PA also spoke with me prior and she was very patient. Physician was understanding and respectful as well. He took additional steps steps as well such as X-rays and comfortable exam. I highly recommend Dr. Hossack for any patient. His bedside manner is excellent. As a healthcare worker, many Physicians are not what you expect but not in this case. Definitely over and beyond the norm. The only concern I did have is my necessity for an MRI and the office workers stated it could take a few weeks to months. I do believe there should be imaging expedited so patients that may need urgent surgery or therapy don’t have to wait in pain. Other than that, great experience!

Well pleased with my first visit to this office. Check in was quick and it was good to see an office with a sign asking other patients to stand back to protect others personal information. Privacy means a lot to me. Melissa the assistant was very professional.

was absolutely Frank about my needing a Knee replacements in the near future . Daniel at the front desk rendered Genuine service . He allowed me to stay seated and kindly set up my next appointment and prescriptions then brought them over to me.
