About Dr. Michael Matthews
Dr. Michael Matthews brings a wealth of knowledge, training, and experience to our patients at The Podiatry Center. Keep reading to learn more about how he can help you find relief from your foot or ankle pain and get back to enjoying your life free from pain.
Dr. Matthews is a native of Southern California. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles where he strove for a balanced focus on international relations and the pre-medical sciences. He then went on to graduate school at the California School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his clinical training at UCSF.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Matthews set his sights on the Washington, DC metro area as a way to satisfy his love for both politics and medicine. He looks forward to bringing his skill set to the area, and to assist patients via regenerative and minimally invasive techniques, utilizing advanced surgical reconstruction only when necessary.
In his free time, Dr. Matthews is an avid surfer and body surfer, and has perused those passions all over the globe. During the winter, he loves exploring new mountains and finding new terrain for both skiing and snowboarding. He is a firm believer in mind/body balance, and regularly practices yoga. While possessing little skill, he also enjoys getting out on the golf course whenever possible!
