His interest in dermatology began while he was a medical student, volunteering in Ethiopia. “It was in this isolated setting that I was first exposed to the field of dermatology, as a large majority of the complaints I handled were dermatologic in nature,” he says. “It was through this and subsequent volunteer experiences I came to appreciate how the field of dermatology has the capability to make concrete changes in people’s lives.” As a result, he founded a non-profit organization dedicated to extending educational opportunities to underprivileged children and their families around the world. Dr. Meyer is a trained classical musician and continues to play piano. He also enjoys exploring new restaurants and traveling, especially overseas. Education Dr. Meyer earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed an internship with the renowned Yale School of Medicine and a dermatology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he served as a chief resident his final year.
