Michael P. Murphy, MD, MPH, is a board-certified Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgeon whose practice encompasses a full range of services for patients of all ages. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Saint Louis University, completed his internship at the University of Washington Medical Center, and finished his residency in Otolaryngology at the same institution. Also board certified in Sleep Medicine, Dr. Murphy treats snoring, sleep apnea, and other sleep disorders. This dual board certification allows him to provide broad treatment options—both surgical and non-surgical—for patients with sleep disorders.
Laryngology, the study of voice and swallowing disorders, has been a special interest throughout his career. He works closely with a Speech Pathologist with many years of experience, and together they offer a comprehensive approach for patients with voice and swallowing disorders.
Dr. Murphy grew up locally in Moraga and returned home to join Diablo Valley ENT in 2002. He is married with two children and enjoys golf, snow skiing, and running.

Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Explains the mechanics of what is going on and provides simple treatment. An excellent and very clean office with friendly staff. He's also great with tricky diagnoses that not every ENT specializes in like sleep disorders and vocal cord dysfunction. Bonus: If you need him after hours, calls go directly to him or another doctor in the practice, no nurse lines, no waits.
