About Dr. Michael Ra

Michael Ra, DO, MPT is an ACGME accredited physician who is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as Pain Medicine. Dr. Ra is a highly skilled interventional physiatrist who treats patients with orthopedic concerns, non-surgically. His area of expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of various musculoskeletal issues involving the spine, as well as joint, muscle, and ligament issues in areas such as the knees, hips, and shoulders.
Additionally, he offers interventional pain injections (epidurals, nerve blocks, steroid injections and radiofrequency ablations) as well as the coordination of care with physical therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture treatments for his patients. Dr. Ra also performs electrodiagnostic nerve testing for those with suspected neuropathy. His interests also extend to regenerative medicine, such as Platelet Rich Plasma injections. These services are provided in our Tinton Falls, Manchester, and Jackson offices.
After the completion of his medical studies, Dr. Ra completed his Internship at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. Thereafter, he completed his three-year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers-RWJ-JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in New Jersey, which is also where he spent an additional year of specialization completing an ACGME accredited Fellowship in Pain Medicine.
